UClassers Discuss Workers’ Rights

This past weekend, a fire raged through Bangladesh’s Tazreen Fashions factory killing an estimated 112 people, the largest in the local industry’s history. On Tuesday, the government of Bangladesh declared a national day of mourning while demonstrators took to the streets to demand better working conditions and justice for those lost in the tragedy.

UClass Responds

This week, the UClass Team has made Bangladesh workers the center of the World Discussion Post, prompting students in 42 countries to engage each other in a discussion about holding companies responsible for the safety of their workers, here and abroad. We hope that discussions like these will make issues such as international labor rights, corporate responsibilities, and safe working conditions important to students now and as they mature into adults responsible for the welfare of our planet.
