UClass Spurs Classrooms To Sandy Relief Effort

As the horror of Hurricane Sandy unfolded, many affected students told their own stories and responded to others’ fears, sorrows and insights about the storm on UClass.

One third grade classroom in the Bronx connected with another in Maine to share their experiences by posting pictures of the aftermath in their neighborhood in a “Hurricane Sandy Project’. But for them, that wasn’t enough. The two classrooms decided to collaborate in an attempt to raise funds to contribute to schools in N.Y.C. severely affected by the storm. Together, they raised over $1,500.

We are incredibly proud of our UClass educators and students who were able to use their UClass platform to not only give their children the opportunity to share but the opportunity to translate their sorrow and empathy into action by actively raising money for those most troubled by the storm. Below we have included clips of these classrooms’ noble efforts to take care of their fellow humans.
